2024-25 Essay Contest

2025-26 Essay Contest Topic: "How My Acts of Service Help Me Understand What My Community Means to Me"

This year's DBOC Essay Contest topic is: “How My Acts of Service Help Me Understand What My Community Means to Me.”


Compose a 700- to 800-word essay around this central idea

Open to Participants under the age of 19 as of October 1, 2025 (and is not enrolled as a degree seeking student of a post-secondary institution.)

In addition to developing skills for written expression, the club winner will be awarded $200 and will advance to the District Level competition where the winner is awarded a $2,500 scholarship.
